Food: Samyang Nuclear Fire Noodle vs Paldo Volcano Chicken Noodle

You’ve probably watched hundreds of videos of people doing these spicy noodle challenges. If you didn’t know, I’ve made videos doing these challenges too!

Left: Samyang Nuclear Fire Ramen, Right: Paldo Volcano Chicken Noodle

The original “Nuclear Fire Ramen Challenge” originated with the Samyang brand, the original spicy chicken flavor. Since that flavor came out, the 2X Spicy flavor, Curry, Cheese, Mala, Carbonara, and Black Bean flavors have come out. If you’re interested in how those flavors taste and how spicy they are, check out my Samyang Chicken Ramen Taste Test:

I’m not sure of the official rules to the Spicy Noodle Challenge. Sometimes people add extra sauce to their ramen, other videos you can’t drink anything while you’re doing it, and it just depends on how extreme you want to go.

In terms of taste, I would prefer the Samyang noodles over the Paldo noodles. I enjoy the chicken flavor in the Samyang sauce and appreciate the level of sweetness the sauce brings. The spice is definitely too spicy for me to enjoy regularly, but the taste is better. The Paldo noodles were also good, but the sauce was thicker and sweeter. I would have to say that they are equivalent in spice factor since I couldn’t find the scoville units for the Paldo noodles.
